From a barber shop to more than 130 bank branches in 4 countries:

FOREX Bank has existed since 1927. It all began at the barber, Gyllenspets, at the central station in Stockholm. He realized that a lot of his customers were turists in need of currecy. The hairdressing saloon was in time turned into a small foreign exchange bureau, which was run by the Swedish State Rail Authority Railroads up until the 1960's.

In 1965, travel agent Rolf Friberg, who is former CEO of FOREX Bank and still owns the company today, was offered the opportunity to buy the foreign exchange bureau to be able to provide a foreign currency service to his travel agency's customers.

Until the beginning of the 1990's, FOREX Bank was the only company besides the banks that was licensed by the Bank of Sweden to trade in currencies.

The first branch in Denmark opened at the central station in Copenhagen in 1994, and today FOREX Bank has 10 branches throughout the country.

FOREX Bank is currently the market-leading foreign exchange bureau in the Nordic region. In addition to foreign exchange, for which turnover in 2011 was close to SEK 20 billion, FOREX bank currently offers several competitive services.

We have more than 130 branches  in SwedenDenmark, Finland and Norway. We welcome you to one of our branches where we will be happy to serve you.
